Attention Runners with Running Buddies

Want to enter a contest that might result in a free pair of limited edition Mizuno Wave Riders for you and your buddy?

ruby red
crystal cranberry

Well, a friendly representative from RunningShoes.com alerted me to this contest on the retailer's blog. Essentially, you brag about your running buddy in the comments of this post.

(Not this post, the one here. And, by "here" I mean the post you get to by clicking the word "here" in the previous sentence. You know how the Web works...)

If your comment most effectively and entertainingly answers the question (What do you love about your running buddy?), you might win a pair of these Valentinesque Mizuno shoes for yourself and your running buddy. The lady version is dubbed "crystal cranberry" and the men get "ruby red".

So, good luck, you social runners!

Inov-8 f-lite 195 Grey, Red Now Available

Attention f-lite 195 fans:

After announcing the f-lite 195 colorways a few months ago, the much desired (according to Inov-8's facebook page) gray and red colorway is finally available at RunningWarehouse. I don't see this colorway online anywhere else at this time. So, not only are these shoes finally available to the rest of us, but they're available from one of the best shoe retailers in the United States!

Get 'em while they're hot, folks.

RunningWarehouse also added the white/black and grey/white f-lite 195, as well as the all black f-lite 230, to their inventory.

I share because I care. That is all.

Late-Day Notice of Cyber Monday Shoe Deals

Or, I Can't Afford New Shoes. But, Maybe You Can.

Your inboxes are undoubtedly loaded with Cyber Monday deals on electronics, stuff, electronics, and more stuff. But, did you get any Cyber Monday emails from RunningWarehouse? Did Shoe Mart send out a FaceBook notification about their Cyber Monday sales? Did you know that Zappos just placed several awesome shoes on sale?

Maybe you did. But, I didn't receive notice of such savings. So, I've scoured the web to relay the sites where you can find sales on some of the marvelous shoes previously featured on this blog.

I'm doing this because I care, friends...

  • Zappos Sale Shoes of Interest: Inov-8 f-lite 230s and 195s at 20% off retail. This is the retailer with the widest selection of f-lite colorways. So, BOOM!
  • ShoeMart Celebrates Cyber Monday: Find a couple of other unique Inov-8 f-lite colorways marked down by 20% here.
  • Mountains Plus Outdoor Gear: Get free socks in addition to saving 25% on select Inov-8 shoes!
  • ZombieRunner Offers 20% Off Everything: That's right, use coupon code CYBERMONDAY during online checkout and save on all the shoes, bottles and packs, clothing, and socks in your cart!
  • RevelSports' Some Sort of Sale: I can't tell if this is just for Cyber Monday or just because. Either way, at the time that I'm typing this sentence, you can click through to find several Inov-8 shoes on sale. (To be honest, though, the deals here are pretty much commensurate with deals already found on other sites listed above)
  • The Natural Running Store Purports to Dominate Cyber Monday with savings of 15% - 40% on some of their inventory (Inov-8, Altra, Newtons, and Vivobarefoot).
  • The New Balance Online Store challenges you to save a super 15% on your entire order.
  • RunningWarehouse Cyber Monday sale: Pretty much just apparel advertised in relation to Cyber Monday here. Meh. This might be the only time of year when you can buy certain Inov-8 styles for less at another site.

Whew! All that pretend shopping has me pretend exhausted! I don't know how I managed to get any actual work done today.

So, if you're thinking of needing new shoes, today might be the day to buy 'em. Otherwise, you won't really need them anymore later in the week when these sales are over. And, you'll wish you'd needed them just a little more right now.

You can quote that, if you like.

FY(effin')I: Huge Sale on Select VivoBarefoot Shoes Right Now

The good people at BirthdayShoes.com have alerted us to the fact that members of The Clymb are privy to a very attractive sale on VivoBarefoot shoes through Sunday (maybe, something like that).

If you've done any research on minimal shoes, you've probably encountered rave reviews of footwear from VivoBarefoot. Then you looked at the price of this footwear. And, you probably scratched them off your list of shoes to try. (I did)

I mean, $160 is a lot for a shoe. Sure, they're European. And, they're supposed to be amazing. But, still, it hurts to take a chance on a shoe that costs that much when you could be taking a chance on a shoe that costs less than $100 (We're talking US dollars, btw).

Well, if you're curious about the VivoBarefoot shoes (Neo, Aqua, Jazz, or Venus models), now may be the best time to order a pair. But, you've gotta be a member of the Clymb.

"How do you become a member of the Clymb?" You ask.

Yeah, I was annoyed, too, when I saw that you had to sign up to be put on a waiting list. WTF? What did they mean I had to be invited?
VivoBarefoot Neo
But, luckily, the internet is full of people who are happy to share their invitation links. And, now I'm one of those people. Feel free to join the Clymb via my personal invite link. (I think I get special credits, or something, if you do)

I haven't decided yet if I'll heed the impulse to purchase a pair of the Neos, even though they're marked down by more than 50%. I've got a little time to mull it over, though...Maybe after a drink or two this evening. But, let me know if you take the plunge. I'm curious to know if there's someone out there who's more impulsive about buying running shoes than I am.

(Obviously, I hope you are not the lucky winner. I would rather be the lucky winner. Good luck to you anyway, though)
